Assembly Corp is a 6 story residential Mass Timber building with 10 residential units and 2 retail spaces. This Mass Timber residential condo located in the heart of Toronto is a modular design that was squeezed into a confined but perfect space on Queen street. A design build project in conjunction with the owner we were involved from inception to completion and were the engineers on site. Energy and mechanical efficiency was front and center in the design to reduce the carbon and ecological footprint.
BIM level 300 was used confirm and coordinate routing of conduits and mechanical piping. Assembly Corp also has a laneway option for clients of want to expend their living space or build a rental unit over their laneway garage. Birnie’s residential division is working along side our commercial division with this one. The City of Toronto is thrilled to have these two type of buildings available and that Assembly Corp is making great use of existing space. These buildings and the Integrated Project delivery model (IPD) were so successful that more Mass Timber buildings have been awarded and we are glad to be a part of them. We were glad to be the electrical contractor of choice on this project.
