Our History
Peter Birnie – Founder
With one look from him, you knew that Peter Birnie meant business, and so did all his employees. Integrity, honesty, respect, and trust were some of the values Peter Birnie lived and ran his company by, and he never deviated from them.
Trust was especially important, and as a young manager in his father’s firm, Tim Birnie will never forget the day he went to his father with a payment issue. Turned out their #1 client at the time had paid an invoice twice. Tim asked his father what he should do, and without hesitating, Peter said to call the customer and advise them of their mistake. Other owners might not have done the same, and we are proud to say that we still have that client today.
Birnie Electric still operates with the values Peter Birnie instilled in his company all those years ago, and now it’s those same values that are key reasons why so many companies choose Birnie Electric as their preferred electrical contracting partner.

About Birnie Electric
Fully insured and well financed, we are a company of professionals standing up and working for you, our clients, with a skilled team of 150 electricians and 30 office staff. You will find we are well prepared for all we do. Our proposals are competitive, and we always present them with clarity. We can make a positive electrical impact on your next job.
We have three distinctly different electrical departments offering electrical services in different capacities, quantities, designs, and forms. You can rest assured that electricians from any of these departments—construction, commercial/industrial/small projects, service/maintenance—are well trained, experienced, keep safety first, and will complete your job.
This is true of not only our field team but also our office team that consistently and reliably provides design, engineering, and estimating services for these departments. In short, our electrical departments provide different services, but they work together as one to get electrical, technology, and maintenance projects completed for you.
